Even though the tagged fish was never caught during the Jacaranda 94.2/RMFM & Solly’s Discount Catch A Million competition at Forever Resorts Loskopdam on 9 May, a proud mister Juan Byleveldt still drove away with a brand new Renault Cleo sponsored by the BB group.
Mister Beyleveldt weighed his catch for the day in at a staggering 9.90kg and secured the second largest prize for the day – the ideal Mother’s Day present, as was mentioned by Dewald Hattingh from Jacaranda RMFM.
The slight drizzle of rain and early morning hours was not about to keep almost 1000 fishing enthusiasts away from the pristine Forever Resorts Loskopdam fishing waters as this day is also considered to be one of the richest fishing competitions in the country.
Numerous other incentives such as cash prizes, fishing and camping gear and weekend break-aways was sure to keep the fishermen occupied and focused throughout the day.
“This is one of the biggest events in Mpumalanga that the station is involved with and enjoys major listenership”, states Alan Khan, Jacaranda 94.2 CEO. Khan further mentions: “The Catch A Million competition is definitely in line with our commitment to make our listeners feel good – not only does each contestant stand a chance to hook a R1 million carp, but there are a number of other prizes for doing what they love – fishing!”
RMFM and Jacaranda 94.2 ensured that there was ample entertainment and listeners, visitors and families had the opportunity to meet their favourite presenter such as Maurice Carpede and Divan de la Guerre from RMFM who attended the day.
The organizers and sponsors promises that next year’s event will be even bigger and better, always offering fishing enthusiasts a wonderful day of fishing supported with great entertainment and prizes that will get you hooked on trying to Catch the Million!
